Before I start this, I want to offer a few words of puzzlement. Yes, I know that sounds weird, but that’s what they are. I do not personally have a position on that event which has been called the “rapture” of the church, wherein, as it is often preached, every person who knows Jesus, and every child too young to decide, will suddenly disappear from the face of the earth, preceding the advent of the seven year period known as the Tribulation or the three and a half year period called the Great Tribulation, depending on your own theological time table.
Nevertheless, this is what I heard God saying to me in my heart as I meditated on this verse. Did I really hear from God, or was it my wishful thinking? As I re-read and re-re-read this entry, I still feel the presence of the Holy Spirit. I’m not certain, but I’m going to go ahead and post it as I received it. You get to be the judge (if you have the Spirit of the living God in your spirit). The only thing I ask is that you ask Him for yourself before you decide whether this is right or wrong.
1 Thessalonians 1:10 . . . and to wait for His Son from Heaven, Whom He raised from the dead–Jesus, Who rescues us from the coming wrath.”
“A rescue involves plucking someone out of a dangerous situation. Understand that My followers are Mine, and are dear to Me whatever they might say or believe about the Day of the Lord. This will be a place of wrath and judgment in that Day, and My bride will be with Me. There will be those in that day who repent and turn their faces toward Heaven. Exceedingly precious and dear to Me, I will gather these also to Myself though through great sorrow and peril–they, too, will come. Know this. You, all of you who are called by My name, will be taken to a place of waiting, rejoicing, preparation, until the last day of the first Adam has come.
My note: (The “days of the first Adam” refers to the present dispensation or time during which the earth has been under the authority of natural man and of Satan.)
The sons of the Kingdom will be revealed and the curse will be destroyed. In that day, I will establish My kingdom on the earth. In that day will all the nations be attracted by the glory and the brightness of My people, My offspring, My children, My bride. Many will come and make their home in My heart, and you will teach, and care for, and disciple them.
“Others will not come, but will rather be repelled. These are the sons of wrath and the remaining devotees of My enemy. They will remain a low-level murmuring–a background noise slowly increasing in pitch. They can do you no harm, though they do greatly harm themselves. These I will quench in a day–the last day of My adversary and the rebirth of all things good.
“This will be the sunrise that never will set. This will be the true birth of My creation, for which everything that has gone before has only been the preparation and gestation.”
What a wonderful day–what a time to look forward to! But today is where we are now, and the battle, though we can’t see it, rages around us. While this spiritual battle continues, let’s covenant with God and with each other to fight it in our prayer closets and in corporate prayer with our brothers and sisters, so that all those who belong to God, may be gathered to Him quickly, to the glory of His Kingdom.
Grace and Peace,
