Jesus Heals Our Crippled Spirits (part 2)

A couple days ago I posted part 1, and if you haven’t read that yet, it’d be good to go back and check it out. This will make more sense if you do.

I asked: “Lord, why did You heal only this one man? Everyone was sick.

My guess: This guy had given up on ever getting into the pool and so he was ready to look to Jesus (or anything else) as a possible solution to his problem. “Is this right, Lord?”

No, not exactly. My righteousness, My holiness was what he needed. But I gave him what he wanted. In this symbolic act I restored him physically, but I was able to do so much more for him (and you). This is why I said to him later, “Sin no more lest a worse thing befall you.” This man, paralyzed by sin is you all — My body — when you are still enslaved by sin. I would restore you, but are you willing to surrender all to Me? Do you want to get well?

“How do we do this, Lord? How do we stop sinning? It seems impossible.”

Lay down your life, take up your cross (your death, which is your friend) and follow Me.

“How, Lord? I don’t know how to do that. I want to, but I can’t. I can’t get to the pool.”

I will not help you get to the pool. Instead, I will be the life — the moving waters — in you. You must submit to Me. You must cry out to Me, “Help, Lord!” This man was crying out in his heart and I came to him. He did nothing but acknowledge his need and his desperation. Cry out to Me, My children, and I will save you from your sins.

Your sins paralyze you so that you cannot come on your own — even to drink — even to bathe and be restored. I will not carry you to the pool — I will be the pool — the fountain — the rivers of living water in you. Open yourselves up to Me. Be a part of our oneness. Live by our life. We offer this to you.  Become what you were meant to be. Join in the divine fellowship. Partake of divine life. You cannot get to the pool however hard you may try. I AM your living water — live by Me.

And then he gave me a song — well, He gave me most of it and we worked on the rest together. There’s a tune, too, and I think it’s probably a take off from something I’ve heard somewhere. It sounds kind of Beatles-ish to me. Anyway, here are the lyrics:

I AM all around you,
A vast and never-ending
Sea of Life and loving
Of Light and Life for living.
And yet you suffer, thirsting
While Life is here for drinking;
Life and Light for healing;
Light and Love for living
To all who will call on My name;
To all who will call on My name.

So come to Me, Beloved;
Drink of Me, My Church.
I AM all you ever need,
But you must feed on Me.
Why, Love, should you hunger
When life is here for eating.
Yet you thirst and suffer
And hunger drains your life.
And all for want of feeding on Me;
And all for want of feeding on Me.

I AM He who feeds the sheep.
I feed them on Myself.
Come and nurse from Me, My flock
And I will make you one.
Without My life, you cannot live,
And you’ll not reach the Promised Land.
Rest in Me; I’ll take you there,
And we’ll rejoice forever more
And joy in one another’s love;
And joy in one another’s love.

We work so hard to get our children to eat the right kinds of food. How much more should we feed on God’s life when He so freely offers it to us. And we have no life of our own except this small and limited physical body which is running down from the moment we receive it. We need His life if we are to live, let alone live as subjects of His Kingdom and sons and heirs of His Father.

Grace and peace, Cindy
