The Seven Signs of John’s Gospel

Opening in the Sky

The Seven Signs:

In his gospel, John lists only seven miracles performed by Jesus during His time on earth. Why did John choose these particular seven? Why only seven? Jesus did so many things, John says, that if they were all written down, he supposed that the heavens and earth could not contain the books that would be written. Our church (a gathering of friends, members of the body of Christ who meet from house to house) decided to meditate on these seven signs and see what God would say to us about them. Here’s what I came up with, and there were many good things brought by others, also.

Website :The Seven Signs of John’s Gospel. Have you not just listed six signs?

    • Oops! Yes, you’re absolutely right. I didn’t realize I never got the seventh (the raising of Lazarus) posted. I’ll have to dig through my journals, though. I’m not sure which one I was using. Thanks for pointing this out!
